Funeral for Margaret Jane Harvel McAbee, 90, of Hartselle will be Sat., July 11, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmy Jones officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Sat., July 11, from 1 to 3 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. McAbee died Thur., July 9, 2015, at River City Center. She was born May 18, 1925, in Morgan County to James L. Harvel and Pearl Tunstill Harvel. She was a member of West End UMC, Hopewell Homemaker Club and the Corsbie St. Prayer Group.

Mrs. McAbee was preceded in death by her parents, husband, George Russell McAbee and daughter, Linda McAbee Taylor.

She is survived by a son, Larry McAbee (Wanda) of Decatur; son-in-law, John D. Taylor (Delores) of Priceville; a brother, Willie B. Harvel of Danville; a sister, Doris Jansen of Orlando, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kevin McAbee, Keith McAbee, Kim McAbee Polson, Tracy Cagle, Shelley Bowling and Bridgette Foster; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Doug Bowling, Britt Bowling, Kevin Cagle, Dennis Griffith, Alan Foster and Brent Lawrimore.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to West End UMC, 513 St. Clair St. SW Hartselle or Meals on Wheels in Decatur.
