George Dietz

A graveside service for George Dietz, 87, of Decatur will be Fri., June 19, 2015, at noon at Oden Ridge Cemetery with Bro. Tim Matthews officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Visitation will be Fri., June 19, from 10 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home.

Mr. Dietz died Tues., June 16, 2015, at St. Vincent’s Hospital. He was born April 8, 1928, in Tennessee to LeRoy Dietz and Queen Beulah Heath Dietz. He was co-owner of the Dietz Brothers Construction Company. He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Pauline Peebles; and a brother, Harold Dietz.

He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Juanita Dietz of Decatur; two sons, Stephen Dietz of Decatur and Burt Dietz of Georgia; two daughters, Diane Sims of Decatur and Susan Carew of Chelsea; a brother, James Dietz of Decatur; a sister, Ann Matthews of Decatur; eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren;and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.
