Funeral for Bill Copeland, 78, of Hartselle was Fri., June 19, at 11 a.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church with Bro. Jack Redfearn officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery in Decatur.
Mr. Copeland died Mon., June 15, 2015, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. He was born July 11, 1936, in Morgan County to Clarence Collier Copeland and Gladys Simmons Knighten. He was retired from the Air Force Reserves. He was an avid sports fan with his favorites being Braves Baseball and Alabama Football. He once delivered a baby while in the Air Force. He was a high voltage electrician at Saginaw (Delphi) prior to his retirement. He was preceded in death by his parents and his stepmom, Katherine Copeland.
He is survived by his wife, Carmen Copeland of Hartselle; a son, Billy Wayne Copeland (Rose) of Decatur; two daughters, Donna J. McDaniel (Mark) of Hampton Cove and Tanya K. Hamilton (Jay) of Somerville; four stepsons, Steven D. Haskins (Misty) and Christopher M. Haskins (Amanda), both of Hartselle, Paul A. Haskins (Lori) of North Carolina and Michael D. Haskins (Emilee) of Virginia; four brothers, James E. Copeland and Robert E Copeland, both of Hartselle, Jimmy W. Copeland of Trussville and R. Shawn Copeland, of Birmingham; two sisters, Reba Nell Decker and Carolyn Wilder, both of Gadsden; 20 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were family members.
