Depend on God’s promises

Ever get up in the morning ready to start the day and all of a sudden, it goes into topsy-turvy mode?

The bathroom sink runs over, the kids are fussing and finally when you are ready to leave the house, your car has a flat.

Even amidst all of these just remember, “Fear thou not; for I am with thee; be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Isaiah 41:10

He tells us that even with all the chaos, we are going through and we become weak, not to fear or be afraid because He promises us strength and He will uphold us. So no matter what trials we are about to face, we can depend on His promises at all times because He is a God we can count on.

Happy birthday wishes go out this week to Patsy Haywood on Dec. 19, Josh Melson and Geoff Halbrooks, both on Dec. 20, Andi Brown, Greg Clark and Jordon Dodd, all on Dec. 21, Alyssa Rogers and Faye Bowles, both on Dec. 22.

Happy anniversary wishes to Bud and Maxine Gibson and Dan and Kandy Cowen on Dec. 19 and Pastor Steve and Whitney Cheuvront on Dec. 20.

Poinsettias in memory of or in honor of, please feel free to bring to decorate the sanctuary of New Center Baptist Church. If you would like to bring one or more in memory of or in honor of, please write down you information and give it to Brenda McMinemon.

The adult choir of New Center Baptist Church will present their Christmas Cantata “Bethlehem Morning” Sun., Dec. 21. Make plans now to attend.

Our Christmas season is here. During this time, we often get overwhelmed with all that’s going on. We all enjoy getting together with our families and friends for a time of food, fun and fellowship. Let us remember our true meaning that Jesus is the reason for the season, a gift of love.
