Bethel drops to 0-6 with loss to Hawks

Bethel Baptist varsity Bobcats (0-6) failed to score in the first quarter and went on to lose their sixth straight game to the North Alabama Home School Hawks 66-30 in a home game Thursday night.

The Bobcats trailed 43-9 at halftime and 63-23 after three periods.

“We caved in to their pressure early on and gave them some easy looks at the basket due to turnovers,” said Bethel head coach Nathan Hawkins. “They did a better job of taking care of the ball and scoring in the second half, but it was too little too late.”

“We’ve got some players who can score when they get looks at the basket,” he added, “but they need to continue to work hard to improve their ball handling skills.”

Sam Murphy led Bethel in scoring with 14 points. Andrew Dodd and Mac Murphy each had 6 points.
