Hartselle earned a regular season sweep of West Point after throttling the Warriors 11-0, 10-0 in a doubleheader Thursday at Reuben-Sims Field.

In four games with the Warriors this week, the Tigers (14-11, 2-0) outscored West Point 29-0.

In the first game, Jake Nelson was near perfect in his one-hit shutout of West Point. He walked none and struck out seven.

Tyler Cook and Hayden Bradford led the attack, each going 2-for-3 at the plate. Daniel Conley added a triple while Tanner Oakes, Brett Blackwood, Collins Hanners and Jorden Robinson had one hit apiece.

In the second game, Brady Wallace struck out 12 West Point batters while allowing one hit and five walks in his shutout.

Blackwood began the scoring with a solo home run and ended the scoring with a sacrifice fly in the third inning. He also walked once.

Conley led the hitting attack with a 3-for-3 effort including an RBI, a run scored and a double.

Oakes had a double for the Tigers while Curtis Russell, Cook, Casen Wallace, Hanners and Zeth Malcolm added hits.

Hartselle 1-7, West Point 0-0

The Tigers won the first game thanks to Casen Wallace’s taking home on a double steal in the top of the fourth inning.

He finished the game 2-for-2 and drew a walk. He wound up stealing home after Collins Hanners stole second base.

Blackwood, Conley and Hanners added singles.

Dakota Fowler pitched a gem, striking out nine while allowing one hit and three walks.

Mason Towers did even better in the second game. He allowed just one hit and no walks with seven strikeouts.

Casen Wallace continued his good hitting two more hits in the second game. Robinson added a double and two RBIs while Oakes, Blackwood, Conley, Malcolm and Bradford added hits.
