PV2 Kyle Stephenson has completed 18 weeks of basic and advanced individual training in the U.S. Army at Fort Leonard Wood, Mo.

He completed all assignments and tests the first time they were given, allowing him to graduate top in his class. He is currently at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska and will be leaving for a 10-month deployment to Kuwait later this month.

Stephenson is a 2011 graduate of Fairview High School. He is the son of John and Tanya Stephenson, brother of Mattie Stephenson, grandson of Kenneth and Sheila Burks of Cullman, Frank and Edna Stephenson of Danville, and great-grandson of Louis Keeton of Cullman and J.E. White of Hartselle.
