Slocumb, Smith wed Dec. 28
Jessica Katherine Slocumb of Hartselle and Joel McAlister Smith of Hartselle were wed Dec. 28, 2002 at 5 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Hartselle.
Minister Tony Smith officiated the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mark and Kathy Slocumb of Hartselle.
The groom is the son of Tony and Jo Lynn Smith of Hartselle.
The bride was given in marriage by her father.
The bride wore a formal designer gown of luxurious matte satin. The strapless gown featured a beaded corset top overlapping the A-line skirt adorned with the same elegant beaded pattern at the hemline and featuring a semi-cathedral train. A bridal bandeau of pearls and beads held a fingertip tulle veil. Her bouquet featured Calla lilies.
Briana Anderson of Hartselle, sister of the bride, was matron of honor.
Brentice Hardin of Hartselle was maid of honor.
Mallarie Hope Anderson and Kara Grace Anderson of Hartselle, nieces of the bride, were flower girls.
Alvin Smith was best man.
Brian Smith and Joshua Smith of Hartselle, brothers of the groom, were ushers.
Freddy Leonard was ring bearer.
Music was provided by pianist Martha Bowling
Following the ceremony, the reception was held in the fellowship hall.
Reception assistants were Amy Seymore, Maggie Hendrix, Cindy Marler, Cindy McCutchen, Denise Patterson, and Christy Rhodes.
Wedding director was Andrea Wagner.
The couple honeymooned in Gatlinburg, Tenn. They reside in Hartselle.
