Ashley Nance was named the 2013 Alabama Community College Conference Player of the Year at the conclusion of the ACCC women’s tournament last week.

Nance, a 5-foot-10 sophomore from Danville, averaged a double-double this season, scoring 16.8 points per game and collecting 10.5 rebounds. She finished with 20 double-doubles and led the ACCC North Division in scoring.

Nance completed her two-year career with 933 points and 551 rebounds, for averages of 14.6 points and 8.6 rebounds. The Wallace State women finished 23-10 this season and a state runner-up in both of Nance’s seasons on campus. Additionally, she was a first-team All-ACCC selection as a freshman in 2012. She plans to continue her career at a four-year school and is mulling over multiple offers.

“I hate to see Ashley go. She’s one of the more special players to come through Wallace State in a long time. It’s going to be tough to replace her. All of the accolades she’s earned are well-deserved,” said Wallace State coach Burdette.
