Funeral for Morriss Junior Sammons, 67, of Chicago, Ill., formerly of Hartselle, was Thur., July 8, at Smith Corcoran Funeral Home in Chicago.
Mr. Sammons died Sat., July 3, 2010. He was born Feb. 5, 1943, in Cullman to Ola Gelina Woods Sammons and Marce Bedford Sammons. He attended F.E. Burleson Elementary and Morgan County High School. He worked as a pipe boiler welder for more than 40 years. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Nee Hutter Sammons; three daughters, Armella Ann Schroder and husband Todd of Reston, Va., Clarissa Mary Sammons of Grand Rapids, Mich. and Mary Ryan and husband Dennis of Chicago, Ill.; a son, Steven Sammons and wife Wendy of Chicago, Ill; six grandchildren, Taylor, Camryn and Eric Schroder, Neala and Lilah Ryan, and Ashlynn Sammons; two brothers, Pat Sammons and wife Betty of Falkville and Frankie Sammons of Hartselle; three sisters, Muriel Suits and husband Paul of Wheaton, Ill., Mary Helen Peck and husband Fayne and Doris Puckett and husband Randy, all of Falkville; and a host of nieces and nephews.
