The Hartselle Education Association meeting was held Nov. 5.

Scholarship awards ($250.00) were presented to Lauren Jones, daughter of Juanita Jones and Robert Slate Goodwin, son of Susan Hayes.

Lauren is a student at the University of Montevallo majoring in music education and Robert is a student at the University of Alabama majoring in English language arts.

Austin Boardman and Kelsey-Rose Estrada were also recognized for their bookmark design. The bookmarks went out to all elementary schools as well as the junior high. They were also donated to the Hartselle Public Library.

The following students received poster contest awards. The theme was: “Good Choices = Good Schools..” First place winners received $25.00 Books A Million gift cards, second place winners received $15.00 Books A Million gift cards and third place winners received $10.00 Books A Million gift cards.

The winners were:Barkley Bridge Elementary, Caleb Simmons, first place; Connor Simmons, second place; and Katie Sloan, third place. Crestline Elementary, Easton Agee, first place; Brooklyn Melson, second place; and Madison Ashley, third place.and F. E.. Burleson Elementary,: Halle Ransom, first place; Danielle Lovell, second place; and Christa Ferryman, third place.

Overall Winners were: K-2, Halle Ransom from F.E. Burleson, $25.00 Books A Million gift card; and Grades 3-5, Caleb Simmons from Barkley Bridge Elementary, $25.00 Books-A-Million gift card.
