Funeral for Ralph Harold Tate, 69, of Decatur will be Sat., Nov. 10, at 2 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Steve Hunt, the Rev. Ralph Henderson, the Rev. Lynn Harvel, and Rev. A. Ray Lee officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Pickle Cemetery in Greenwood Springs, Miss., on Sunday. Visitation will be Fri., Nov. 9, from 5-8 p.m. at Liberty Baptist Church.

Mr. Tate died Wed., Nov. 7, 2012, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born Oct. 1, 1943, in Monroe County, Miss., to Ausie Ralph Tate and Lillie Mae (Easter) Tate. Mr. Tate was a Chorus teacher for Brewer High School for 26 years. He was Minister of Music for over 40 years at numerous Churches throughout Mississippi and Alabama. He graduated from Hatley High School, Itawamba Junior College, B.S. from Mississippi State University and a double Masters from UNA . He was an avid supporter of Mississippi State Bulldogs and the Atlanta Braves. He was a member and Minister of Music at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Rheda Murff Tate of Decatur; two sons, Tim Tate and wife Brooke of Mammoth Spring, Ark., and Chris Tate and wife Gina of Decatur; a daughter, Angela Hunt and husband Steve of Warrior; a brother, Dennis Tate of Sipsy Fork, Miss.; three sisters, Twin- Carol Powell and husband Kenny of Amory, Miss., Shirley Bowen of Aberdeen, Miss., and Joyce Berryhill of Greenwood Springs, Miss; six grandchildren, Mackenzie, Taylor, David, Jonathan, Lillie and Anna.
