Franklin 'Buddy' Beggs

Funeral for Franklin "Buddy" Beggs, 62, of Winder, Ga., formerly of Somerville, was Monday, Sept. 23, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial was in Walnut Grove Cemetery with a full military service.
Mr. Beggs died Thursday, Sept. 19, 2002, at Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Ga. A native of Morgan County, he was retired from the U.S. Army as a major, where he served in the Vietnam War as a pilot. He was the father of the late Mark Todd Beggs.
He is survived by his wife, Sherry Stanley Beggs of Winder, Ga.; two sons, Daniel Beggs of Roswell, Ga., and B.,J. Beggs of Winder, Ga.; one daughter, Tina Byrd of Winder, Ga.; two brothers, James Beggs and Melvin Beggs, both of Somerville; one sister, June Spurlin of Somerville; and two grandchildren.
Pallbearers were military officers.
