Funeral for J.H. “Sonny” Barber, 78, of Hartselle was Friday, May 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Wendell Callahan officiating.
Burial was in Oak Ridge Cemetery.
Mr. Barber died Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at Hartselle Medical Center. He was born February 8, 1931, in Morgan County to James Houston Barber Sr. and Daisy Clara Terrell Barber. He was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Harold Barber.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Barber of Hartselle; a son, Terry Wayne Barber of Hartselle; a daughter, Kim Ozley and husband Mike of Stapleton; four sisters, Pauline Barber Evans and Betty Barber Brookover, both of Hartselle and Edith Barber Gray and Bobbie Barber White, both of Danville; and a grandchild, Josh Ozley of Stapleton.
Pallbearers were Fred White, D.L. Gray, Wayne Brookover, Tommy Russell, Harvey McCleskey and Tommy Parker.
Honorary pallbearer was Billy McDonald.
