Priceville at Haleyville game notes

Series: First meeting

Heartbreak for Priceville: East Lawrence’s Terrence Deloney ripped the hearts out of Bulldog fans last week, as he rushed for 314 and passed for 102 yards and was responsible for all six touchdowns in a 42-35 comeback win. After scoring 35 in the first half, Priceville had trouble finishing drives with three straight drives resulting in interceptions to end the game. Expect the Priceville coaching staff to address this issue this week.

Defense continues to struggle in 4A competition: The Bulldogs have had trouble stopping teams in region play. They have allowed 180 points in four region games, a 45-point average. The Bulldogs must cut down on that number if they want to defeat Haleyville, which is averaging 32.5 points per game in region play.

Chances to score: Haleyville also allows more than 31 points per game, which could give Priceville’s offense a chance to shine. Priceville is 6-2 all-time when scoring more than 40 points and 19-6 when scoring more than 30 points.
