New Center Baptist sponsors golf tourney on Oct. 13

It used to be called ‘Keeping up with the Jones’s’ but how content are we? If our car is old but still reliable, we want a new one. If our hair is brown, we want blonde, or if we are a size 14, we want to be a size 8. Can we not ever be satisfied? Philippians 4:11 says “Not that I speak in respect of want; for I have learned whatsoever state I am, I will be content.” How do we learn this? Contentment doesn’t come easy for us, we must take it one step as a time.

Love and sympathy to the family and friends of Micah Coffey, Wendell Randolph, Jean Thomas Kreps and my cousin, Glenda Johnson Vaughn.

Mike and Kaye Widener traveled to St. Louis to visit their youngest daughter, Kayla, recently.

Happy belated birthday to Jean Johnson, Jerry Creel and Heather Johnson Pullam, all of whom celebrated birthdays recently.

Happy birthday to Kasoniya Briggs, Karrie Shea, both on Oct. 5; David Blankenship, Beth Ledlow Bramlett and Daniel Necaise, all on Oct. 6; April Dean, Nikki Motes and Todd Russell, all on Oct. 7; Lucille Kerwood, Brooklyn Mast, Richard Herbert, Stephen Keeling and Jeremy Parker, all on Oct. 8; Tiny Hollis, Bailey Chandler, Sarah Howard and Joanne Montgomery, all on Oct. 9; Aimee Beal, Virginia Callahan, Mo Williams and Karlie Jenkins, all on Oct. 10; Rachel Fink, Oct. 11; Marlon Terry and Greg Begemann, both on Oct. 12; Laura Ray Parrish, Milford Cobbs and Jarrod Lucas, all on Oct. 13; and Sarah Borden, Oct. 14.

Happy anniversary to Hoyt and Carolyn Bracken, Oct. 6; Lou and Ann Heath, Oct. 12; Royce and Barbara Thrasher, Oct. 14.

New Center Baptist Church will sponsor a missions golf tournament, Sat., Oct. 13, at Quail Creek. Lunch and ice cream and door prizes will be provided. All proceeds go to the mission trip to Mexico. See Pat Hal-brooks for more information.
