If you’re looking for a barrelful of fall fun, take a look at what’s in store for you and your family during the last days of September.

The fun begins Sept. 20, with the opening of the 63rd Morgan County Fair and followed by the Racking Horse World Celebration and Eva Frontier Days Sept. 21 and 22, respectively.

The county fair, featuring carnival rides, livestock shows, a demolition derby, beauty pageant and live stage entertainment, will run Sept. 20-29, at the fairgrounds in Decatur.

Gates open at 6 p.m. on weekdays and 2 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Admission is $5 for those 13 and older and $3 for children of ages 6-12. Younger children are admitted free.

Racking horses and riders from throughout the southeast will be competing for honors in more than 170 classes at the Morgan County Celebration Arena in Priceville Sept. 21-29.

For non-equestrians, the event will offer a dog show, barn decorating contest, golf tournament, a “When they Pigs Fly” contest and a stick horse race. Competitions begin at 6 p.m. on Sept. 21-25 and 27-29 and at 5 p.m. on Sept. 26.

General admission is $5 on Sept. 21-26 and $7 on Sept. 27-29. Parking is $5 per vehicle.

The 24th annual Eva Frontier Days will begin on Sat., Sept. 22, with a beauty pageant at Journey Church at 10 a.m. Admission is $3. A bluegrass festival with Stan Nelson & Hurricane Creek Band will follow at 6 p.m. Admission is $6.

Other weekday events are a community hayride on Tues., Sept. 25, at 6:30 p.m. at the Eva Saddle Club Arena. A $1 admission charge includes a hot dog and Coke.

Eva Baptist Church will host a community gospel singing Thur., Sept. 27, beginning at 7 p.m. On Thur., Sept. 27, at 6 p.m. a street dance will be held downtown.

The celebration will conclude on Sat., Sept. 29, with a full day of fun-filled activities. Featured will be an antique tractor a car show, beginning at 9 a.m., a street parade at 11 a.m., a crafts show and live stage entertainment. Afternoon events will include a Best-Dressed Contest, Pig Calling Contest, Frog Jumping Contest and a Greased Pig Chase.
