Byrd, Thigpen to wed
Dina Byrd of Hartselle announces the engagement of her daughter, Anna Carol Byrd, to Joshua Drew Thigpen, son of Henry and Linda Thigpen of Fayette. The future bride is also the daughter of the late Gary Byrd.
The future bride is the granddaughter of Henry and Carolyn Springer of Hartselle and Paul and Laverne Byrd of Falkville. A 2004 graduate of Hartselle High School, she is a 2008 graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in nursing. She is employed as a registered nurse in the emergency room at Decatur General Hospital.
The future groom is the grandson of Earl and Flora Walton of Fayette, Lucile Thigpen and the late Jason Thigpen. A 2003 graduate of Fayette County High School, he received his bachelor of science in business administration from the University of Alabama in 2007. He is employed as an account manager for Healthcare Services Group in Huntsville.
The wedding is planned for Oct. 18, 2008, at First United Methodist Church in Hartselle. A reception will follow at Burningtree Country Club.
