F.E. Burleson Elementary School will open its doors to 18 four-year-old pre-kindergarten students next school year thanks to a $92,000 State Department of Education Pre-K Grant.
The grant was announced by Superintendent Dr. Mike Reed at a regular school board meeting July 14.
Calvert said Burleson would serve as host for the class while Head Start will have responsibility for deciding who will attend.
She said while the program is open to any 4-year-old child in Morgan County the grant application was written in such a way as to give preference to children in Hartselle’s school district.
