Funeral for Lora Maddux Brown, 84, of Priceville was Monday, June 2, at 10 a.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Harold Segars officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle Memory Gardens.
Mrs. Brown died Friday, May 30, 2008, at her residence. She was born July 28, 1923, in Morgan County to Henry Grey Maddux and Onez Johnson Maddux.
She was a charter member of Liberty Baptist Church. During World War II, she worked at Decatur Iron and Steel making gun casings for the war effort. Here hobbies included cooking and flower gardening. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Francis Collins Brown Jr.; a grandson, Johnathan Stone; and 11 brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Rickey Brown and wife Claire and Owen Brown and wife Gail; a daughter, Gayla B. Ashford and husband Steven Feldman; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Joey Ashford, Matthew Brown, Hughes Holmes, John Holmes, Zack Holmes, Rocky Stone and Jerry Wilson.
