Funeral for Willard F. Maples, 79, of Somerville was Friday, March 14, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home with the Rev. Curtis Sanford officiating.
Burial was in Burningtree Memorial Gardens.
Mr. Maples died Wednesday, March 12, 2008, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born June 5, 1928, in Lawrence County to Roy H. Maples and Bertha Montgomery Maples.
He was a member of Forrest Hills Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by two sons, Donald Maples and Ronald Maples; two grandsons, Charles D. Seratt and Landon Horn; and a great-granddaughter, Jacqueline Seratt.
Her is survived by his wife, Wilma Tipper Maples of Somerville; two sons, Steven Maples of Chelsea, Mich. and Larry Maples of Somerville; a daughter, Sandy Maples of Higgins Lake, Mich.; two brothers, Roy Junior Maples of Danville and Clarence Maples of Decatur; a sister, Syble Tipper of Cocoa, Fla.; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
