Morgan County Board of Education

Personnel items recommended by Superintendent Bill Hopkins and approved by the board are listed as follows:

•Approved the following contracts for a total of 112 days (June 12-14, 26-28, July 10-12, 24-26) for the 2-012 Extended Year Program at Sparkman School: Marian Anderson, teacher, $175 per day; Saundra Cobb, teacher, $175 per day; Anita Fisher, nurse, $150 per day; and Michelle Kennedy, Rhonda Smith and Rebecca Eidson, all aides, current hourly rate.

•Accepted the resignation of Emily Trimble, countywide speech teacher, effective June 19, 2012.

•Approved Heather Collier as a 4th grade teacher at Eva School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. She was non-renewed and is being rehired in this position.

•Approved Jackie Goodwin as a 1st grade teacher for the 2012-2013 school year only. She will be filling in for Tammie Frye who is on leave.

•Approved Patrick Shea Dailey as instrumental music teacher at Eva/Cotaco/Brewer, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. He is replacing Paula Hazelrigg who retired.

•Approved Career Technical Education Extended Contract Grant form Career Technical Education State Funds to Morgan County Schools in the amount of $6,898 for Andrew Brock, agriscience teacher at Brewer High School.

•Approved a catastrophic leave of absence for Bill Partridge, countywide school bus driver, effective Aug. 16, 2012, through Jan. 3, 2013.

•Approved a contract with Josh Sawyer as summer school teacher at Priceville High School for the 2011-2012 school year.

•Accepted the resignation of Christy Ferguson as head softball coach at Falkville High School, effective June 25, 2012.

•Approved Tina Nelson as CNP worker at Eva School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. She was non-renewed and is being rehired in this position.

•Approved Charles Anthony Annerton as countywide nurse, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. He was non-renewed and is being rehired in this position.

•Approved Alabama Leadership Academy fellows Program contract for Earl Leonard, effective with the beginning of the new school year.

•Approved Christie Graddy as a countywide bus driver at Cotaco, effective with the beginning for the 2012-2013 school year. He is replacing Bobby Mayo who resigned.

•Approved substitutes for Danville-Neel’s summer learning camp, June 25-29 and July 9-13, as needed: Their hourly rate of pay was $30 with funds coming from Title I funds.

•Approved the transfer of Shelia Frost, a computer lab aide at Falkville High School, to library aide at Falkville Elementary and High School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. She is replacing Carolyn McClellan who retired.

•Approved Lauren Atkins as a math teacher at West Morgan High School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. She is replacing Donna Jarnagin who retired.

•Approved the current assignment of countywide reading coach Dana Speegle from Lacey’s Spring School and Sparkman School to Lacey’s Spring School and Falkville Elementary School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.

•Approved current assignment of countywide reading coach Tammy Baylis from Danville-Neel Elementary School to Danville-Neel Elementary School and Danville Middle School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.

•Accepted the resignation of Ashley Shoeybipour, countywide SPE aide, effective June 21, 2012.

•Approved Mandy Burks as a Pre-K aide at Cotaco School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. She was non-renewed at the end of the 2011-2012 school year and is being rehired to this position.

•Approved the transfer of Derek Blagburn from countywide SPE support staff to self-contained special education teacher at Brewer High School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. He is replacing Ann Anderson who retired.

•Approved Timothy Martin as a custodian at Lacey’s Spring School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year. Mr. Martin will be replacing Terry Speegle who transferred.

•Approved the termination of Shelia A Johnson, custodian at West Morgan High School, effective July 19, 2012.

•Approved the transfer of Glenn Lang from principal at Danville-Neel Elementary School to principal at Falkville High School, effective July 1, 2012.f He is replacing Sue Wood who retired.

•Approved three-year principal contracts for Glenn Lang, Keith Morris, Robbie Elliott and Mark Mason.

•Accepted the resignation of Michael R. Green as freshman boy’s basketball coach at Priceville High School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.

•Accepted the resignation of David Estes as track and assistant football coach at Priceville High School, effective at the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.

•Approved Jonathan McGill as a math teacher and coach at Falkville High School, effective with the beginning of the 2012-2013 school year.
