A memorial service for John M. Estes, 81, of Hartselle was Tues., July 24, at 2 p.m. Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jeff Redmond officiating.

Mr. Estes died Sat., July 21, 2012, at Decatur General Hospital. He was born July 31, 1930, to Isaac John Henry Estes and Exie Martin Estes. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Hartselle. He was preceded by his wife, Lucille Estes.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Estes of Hartselle; a daughter, Barbara Judkins of Hartselle; two stepsons, Mark Kauffman and wife Stephanie of Cullman and Mike Kauffman and wife Cassandra of Decatur; a stepdaughter, Debra Erwin and husband Erwin of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two brothers, Neal Estes and wife Nellie of Jacksonville and David Estes and wife Tenia of Guntersville; a sister, Jean Martin of Guntersville; six grandchildren, Sadie Kauffman, Mason Kauffman, Robert Erwin, Kalitta Kauffman, Mallorie Kauffman, Brody Kauffman and Bonnie Shedd; and three great-grandchildren, Keegan Waddell, Dallis Shedd and Jadyn Shedd.
