A memorial service for Shirley A. Vaughn, 70, of Mulga was Tuesday, Feb. 19, at 7 p.m. at Brown Service Funeral Home in Hueytown.
Burial was in Village Falls Cemetery in Mulga Wednesday, Feb. 20, at 10 a.m.
Mrs. Vaughn died Saturday, Feb. 16, 2008, at Baptist Medical Center-Princeton in Birmingham. She was born Sept. 6, 1937, in Mobile to Floyd and Winnie Lucas Vernon. She was a seamstress, florist and active member of the Minor High School Band Boosters. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, James Harold Vernon.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Vaughn of Mulga; two sons, Floyd Vaughn and wife Donna of Jackson, Miss. and Jeff Vaughn and wife Melissa of Hartselle; two daughters, Virginia St. John of Mulga and Carolyn McLeod and husband Brian of Murphy, N.C.; five grandchildren, Josh St. John, Jennie St. John Smith, Justin St. John, Adam Vaughn and Anna Vaughn; two great-grandchildren, Ayiana Jeter and Brianna Smith.
Pallbearers were Josh St. John, Justin St. John, Barry Higgins, Adam Vaughn, Buddy Meeks, Alan Smith, Henry Abbott, and Zac Binx.
