I love e-mail. I can easily keep in touch with family and friends both close to home and far away. I can write to them and they can read it at their convenience and vice versa.
I also love the pictures and video clips of cute animals, cute babies and sometimes stupidity in action, like the guy who tried to roller blade off a metal roof.
However, what I would like to know is how on earth e-harmony got my e-mail. I am married with six kids! Do I look like I need e-harmony? First of all, anyone who would be willing to date me has got to be deranged or into, let’s say, the stranger side of things — neither of which I am interested in!
I also get e-mail from several people who are more than willing to share billions of dollars with me in exchange for them being able to use my bank account as a transfer point for their money. Um, how stupid do they think I am? Giving someone that information is like saying, “Please rob me blind! Here take everything I’ve got!”
Another one that I just love (note the sarcasm here) is the “chain” e-mails. The ones that promise you good luck if you pass on an e-mail to five people within five minutes of opening it. Yeah, right. My next favorite is the ones that promise good luck depending on how many people you pass it on to. For example, if you pass it on to 20 people you will have good luck in one hour, if you pass it on to only 10 people it will take a week, and so on. Okay, first of all I don’t believe in “good” luck. I believe in blessings from my Heavenly Father. Secondly, how would the e-mail know if how many people I sent it to and when I did it. Is there an e-mail fairy out there somewhere watching me?
I will occasionally send these on if I like the message in them or if they are cute, but most of the time I cut off the “luck” part and just send the part I like. I know, I’m a bad girl and will have terrible luck forever and ever. Whatever.
