All five members of the Hartselle Board of Education have qualified for election to the city’s first elected school board.

So far none of them have any competition for their seats.

First day qualifiers for Hartselle School Board were Jennifer Sittason in Place 4, Monica “Monty” Vest in Place 1 and Randy Sparkman in Place 2.

On Friday, Dr. James Joy entered the race for Place 3 on the school board while Bruyne Rollins qualified for Place 5.

City Clerk Rita Lee said prospective BOE members have until July 17 to qualify for the August municipal elections.
