Local woman celebrates her 105th birthday

On June 16, Fleda Stringer Monk turned 105 years old. Monk celebrated her birthday with a pizza party at the Falkville Healthcare Center with friends and family on June 15. Monk has lived in or around the Hartselle area since she was two years old. Monk has seen many changes during her life, and is still alert and has her memory. She was married to Hollis Monk and is the mother of four sons. Her sons include Holland Monk, Frank Monk, Larry Monk and Carl Monk.
