Hartselle’s Brodie Morrow Hits Walk-Off Home Run to Defeat Austin

Coming off six games in West Tennessee, the Tigers came home for a Saturday doubleheader with Austin and Helena.

Freshman Brodie Morrow hit a walk-off home run that propelled the Tigers to a dramatic victory over Austin, 5-4. Hartselle was down 4-3 in the bottom of the seventh inning when Brodie Morrow homered on a 1-0 count, driving in two runs.

Morrow led Hartselle with two hits and two RBI while Drew Nix had two RBI and Connor Ord added one RBI.

Grayson Bray started the game for Hartselle, allowing six hits and four runs over six innings while striking out seven. Drew Cartee got the win as he pitched one inning in relief.

The win evens the season series with the Black Bears who won the earlier game 4-0.

In the second game of the doubleheader, Hartselle hosted Helena who was coming off a victory in their first game of the day in Cullman.

Morrow continued his hot streak for the Tigers as he had two hits and the lone Hartselle RBI. Grayson Bray also added two hits for the Tigers.

Beau Fletcher took the loss as he allowed three hits and three runs over five innings, striking out six. Ayden Penley entered the game in relief, pitching two innings allowing one run on one hit while striking out four.

Hartselle’s record now sits at 11-13.
