LESTER – In the first round of the Class 4A Area 15 tournament, the Danville varsity boys pulled out a close 62-56 win over Priceville on Tuesday evening. Danville’s winning margin of six was their biggest lead of the closely-contested game.

Wren Cole – who scored 11 points in the opening quarter for the Hawks – and Cameron Orr both played a huge role in leading their team to victory, each scoring 18.

Despite losing efforts, the star of the game was Brandon Speegle of Priceville. He was responsible for scoring nearly half of his teams points, scoring a game-high 29.

Danville advances to play the host team West Limestone in the area championship at 6 p.m. on Friday.
