The Brewer Patriots have had a very rough up and down season with lots of highs and lows. The Patriots will not host their area tournament but are still in the running for a good postseason run. A win over the visiting Boaz Pirates would put them back on the right track.

Both teams struggled to gain an advantage over the other early, until Dakota Bennett slammed down a dunk for the Patriots to give Brewer a 12-9 lead. John Graves added a couple free throws and Bennett slammed down another dunk as Brewer took a 16-12 lead at the end of the first.

Brewer pushed their lead to as far as five behind two more free throws from Graves and a basket from Haden Holmes. However, Boaz cut the lead to 26-24 behind a buzzer beating three pointers just before halftime.

In the third quarter, Brewer managed to stay a basket or two ahead of Boaz at all times. Bennett added another dunk that put the Patriots up 30-26, but the Pirates fought back and hit another buzzer beating three-pointer to tie the game 34-34.

In the fourth quarter, Bennett took over for the Patriots and knocked down several shots including two three pointers. However, the biggest point of the game came when Graves got the rebound off a missed Brewer free throw and laid it back in to give the Patriots a 50-46 lead. From there, Brewer went on to win 54-49

John Graves and Dakota Bennett finished as the Patriots leading scorers with 14 and 13 points respectively. Haden Holmes finished with nine.
