A graveside service for James Brock, 78, of Hartselle will be Sat., Oct. 8, at 2 p.m. at New Center Cemetery with Bro. Earl Holt and Bro. Harold Brown officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. No visitation is scheduled.
Mr. Brock died Wed., Oct. 5, 2016, at his residence. He was born May 1, 1938, in Walker County to Benjamin Franklin Brock and Tessie Mae Ivey Brock. He was a member of Serenity Baptist Church, where he served as a Deacon. James was a Licensed Baptist Minister and prior to moving to Serenity Baptist was a Deacon and member of New Center Baptist Church for 38 years. He retired from Sexton Can Company in Decatur. He loved to garden.
He is survived by Maudie Russell Brock of Hartselle; a daughter, Deborah Brock Blackwood of Hartselle; a sister, Brenda Close of Hartselle; and a grandchild, Julie Blackwood (Fiance’-Trent Downs).
In lieu of flowers: family requests memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
