Chamber to host political forum

The Hartselle Area Chamber of Commerce will hold a Candidates Forum Thur., Aug 4 at Hartselle High School. The event will begin at 5:00 p.m. with a meet and greet with the form beginning at 6:00 p.m.

The chamber is offering this as a community service for the citizens of Hartselle to hear the municipal candidates voice their opinions. The event will involve each candidate answering selected questions from a moderator, with an allotted time to answer the questions. There will be no questions taken from the audience. Each candidate will also have a one-minute time frame to make an opening statement and will be able to conclude with a one minute long closing statement.

Those participating will include: mayoral candidates, Randy Garrison, Max. Merrill and Bill Smelser.

Council candidates participating will include Place One Kenny Thompson, Place Two Dwight Tankersley, Place 3 Chuck Gill and Jerry Putman, Place 4 Virginia Alexander and Michael Terry and Place 5 Matt Broom, Daniel Crowe and Ken Doss.

The public is invited to attend this event.
