Myrtle “Millie” Smith

Funeral for Myrtle “Millie” Smith, 84, of Decatur will be Fri., April 29, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Tony Willis and Bro. Robert Frazier officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial will be in Burningtree Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Fri., April 29, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Smith died Wed., April 27, 2016, at National Healthcare in Moulton. She was born May 30, 1931, in Morgan County to Fred Ward Jones and Eula Rosalee Pace Jones. She was a Lab Technician for Solutia prior to her retirement. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Nelson Jones.

She is survived by two sons, Alvis Brown (Vicky) of Rogersville and Randall Brown (Judy) of Muscle Shoals; a daughter, Judy Welch (Bill) of Decatur; two brothers, OHarrel Jones of Crown Point, IN and Clifton Jones of Decatur; three sisters, Vinola Brady of Michigan, Imogene Taylor of Lady Lake, FL and Martha Lott of Decatur; 10 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Keith Ezell, Dan Hale, Derrick Brown, Chris Brown, Matthew Brown and Adam Brown.

Honorary pallbearers will be Marty Blackwood and Jonathan Lindley
