Bazzel family offers thanks

Dear Editor,

We want to thank you for the wonderful story in the Hartselle newspaper and also the magazine about the Ice Bucket Challenge that our daughter, Hannah, did at Brewer High School. It was such a blessing to be able to watch her encourage her peers and faculty to participate in something fun to help such a needy cause and to make her dad so happy. He is such an amazing man and has impacted so many lives in so many ways. ALS is such a devastating and powerful disease but we refuse to let it stop our lives. I know just by watching him get that icy water poured over his head you could see some of his character. He is still such a daredevil inside but unfortunately; the disease has taken so much from him already. He cannot stand-alone, walk or even speak words anymore but he is definitely the same man inside. Hopefully because of the Ice Bucket Challenge, there will be a cure found very soon. Thank you both for making that day even more special by sharing our story.
