Funeral for Bob Pittenger, 77, of Fayetteville, Tenn., was Tues. Aug. 5, at 7 p.m. at Higgins Funeral Home in Fayetteville with the Rev. Don Russell officiating.

Burial followed Wed., Aug. 6, at 11 a.m. in Blue Springs Cemetery in Morgan County.

Mr. Pittenger died Mon., Aug. 4, 2014, at Huntsville Hospital. He was a native of Lincoln County, Tenn. and the son of Claude F. and Mary Green Pittenger. He was a 1955 graduate of Central High School in Fayetteville and studied electrical engineering at UT Knoxville, worked for Chrysler for 34 years and was partner with his son, Larry Pittenge, in Aable Environmental. He was a member of Park City Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Kelly Pittenger.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Fowler Pittenger of Fayetteville, Tenn; sons Richard T. (Mary) Pittenger of Chesapeake, VA, Larry D. (Lucy) Pittenger of Murfreesboro, TN, Jeffrey L. (Linda) Pittenger of Jacksonville, FL, James R. Pittenger of Fayetteville, TN, Jerry D. (Shawn) Pittenger of Gallatin, Tenn.; grandchildren Erica (Jimmie) Edwards, Jon, Justin, Caleb, Conner and Morgan Pittenger; great-grandchildren Travis and Zack Edwards; a sister Claudia Sandlin of Fayetteville, Tenn.; two brothers Eddie F. (Mary Ruth) Pittenger of Murfreesboro, Tenn. and Jerry R. (Judy) Pittenger of Fayetteville, Tenn.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Parks City Baptist Church Building Fund or Blue Springs Cemetery Fund in Morgan County.
