Ruth Townsend Moore

Funeral for Ruth Townsend Moore, 90, of Hartselle, was Sun., June 29, at 3 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Patsy Carlberg officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in Forrest Chapel Cemetery.

Mrs. Moore died Mon., June 23, 2014, at Decatur Morgan Hospital. She was born March 9, 1924, in Morgan County to David Manson Townsend

and Berta Herring Townsend. She was a member of Forrest Chapel U.M.C and a homemaker. She was a longtime supporter of Hartselle High School Football and an avid Auburn fan. She, her husband and children, traveled extensively while following his U.S. Air Force career. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Moore; a son, David Moore; and her parents.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry Moore of Birmingham and Donny Moore of Muscle Shoals; a daughter, Jan Neumaster of Ocean Springs, Miss.; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild

Pallbearers were family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to Forrest Chapel U.M.C.
