Mike Tarpley is seeking re-election to the Morgan County Board of Education District 3.

A graduate of Falkville High School, Tarpley holds an Ag Economics degree from Auburn University. He has served on the Board, both appointed and elected, for three terms.

He is a member, deacon and Sunday school director at First Baptist Church, Falkville. He has also served as a Joe Wheeler Natural Gas Board member, board of trustees member for Alabama Risk Management for Schools and a real estate broker at Remax Platinum.

Tarpley has been married to Lawana Steel for 37 years. They have a daughter and son-in-law, Jade and Trey Chowning.

Tarpley said he believes in building meaningful relationships with other leaders to partner for success in all of our schools.

“Building new schools that are equipped to prepare our students for tomorrow, being committed to fiscal responsibility and making all decisions based on what is best for our children are what I will continue to commit to when you re-elect me for Morgan County School Board,” Tarpley said.

Tarpley said he is dedicated to making the best decisions for our students. He is experienced and has been on the team that has lead Morgan County Schools into strong financial stability, even in tough economic times.

“It has been an honor for me to serve on the Morgan County School Board and serve the students in Morgan County,” he added. “I love the children, and I love this county. We have so many good things going on, and I am excited about the future. Together, we can make great things happen.”
