Funeral for Willie A. “Billie” Clowers, Miller, 87, of Decatur was Tues., May 6, at the Algoma Baptist Church in Algoma, Miss., at 3 p.m. with the Rev. Don Smith officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.

Burial was in the Pontotoc Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mrs. Miller died Sat., May 3, 2014, in Decatur, a home she had shared for two years with her daughter, Lisa. She was born June 27, 1926, in Pontotoc County, Miss., to Dolphus Dwight Clowers and Ella May Hill Clowers. She was a hard working homemaker. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Joe Miller Jr.; a brother, Marvin Clowers; and a sister, Annie Boyce Clowers Bridgman. She developed extra close relationships as sitter for Beth Tutor, her grandniece and Susan Cagle, her son-in-law, Monty Cagle’s sister. Until her final two-week illness, she never lost interest in reading, bird watching, seeking out beautiful flowers and trees and being with her cats and the people she loved. Throughout her life she was known for her selflessness, her compassion, her great cooking and wise advice and her love of conversation. She was a lifelong Baptist but respected all religions.

She is survived by her daughter, Lisa Miller Cagle; four nieces; four nephews; and many grandnieces and nephews and great-grandnieces and nephews.
