The Judgment Seat returns on Oct. 29th
The Judgment Seat is back for another year.
Shiloh Baptist Church in Somerville will present its 21st installment of the eight-scene, walk-through drama beginning Tues., Oct. 29, and continuing through Fri., Nov. 1. Hours will be from 6 to 10 p.m.
The live production features the diverse talents of 36 actors, many of whom are teenagers, and a support staff of over 100 volunteers. The actors appear in eight different scenes, including hell and heaven.
“These scenes are meant to be representations of real people, making real choices that will affect their lives for an eternity,” said Minister of Students Michael Walters, who directs the play. Each year has a different theme, different decisions, but all of the decisions have the same outcome…judgment.”
“This year will be bigger and better than ever,” he added, “and we look forward to having big crowds each night.”
Admission to The Judgment Seat is free. No reservations are needed. Walk-up time slots are reserved to make sure that every person who comes can register and go through with minimal wait times. However, reservations are offered for groups of 10 or more. Registration opens each evening at 5:30 p.m.
In the past 20 years, over 35,000 people have walked through The Judgment Seat.
The drama is a joint project of the student ministry and the adults of Shiloh Baptist Church.
The age recommendation is that no one under 10 participates.
