Hartselle native Nicole Love Halbrooks Vaughn has discovered the faith-strengthening lessons of God’s love in the first 20 chapters of the Book of Exodus and is now sharing them with readers of her new book, “Devotions from Exodus, Part One – Learning to Live in Freedom.”

Vaughn’s devotionals, gleaned from extensive research and careful attention to detail, take the casual Bible reader on a soul-searching journey, leading them to hunger and thirst for a deeper understanding of God’s Word.

“The children of Israel were set free from their bondage but, after 400 years of enslavement, they had to learn how to live in this new freedom,” wrote Vaughn.” The reader will see that even after God delivered the Israelites out of Egypt, he still had to get Egypt out of them. Our deliverance in Christ is no different. God delivers us from the world, but he still has to get the world out of us.”

Vaughn said she discovered what it is like to live in freedom when she turned her life over to the Lord fully in 2001.

I began studying the Bible under the guidance of Precept Ministries in January 2012,” she stated. “I began by reading Daniel, and for the first time in my life I realized that God was with me. He was teaching me His Word, Later, as I was studying in Genesis, he inspired me to write my first book, “Devotions from Genesis.”

She is now working on her third book, “Devotions from Exodus, Part Two.

Vaughn said she believes her books can be a blessing to anyone who seeks a deeper devotional walk with God. She also recommended them to anyone who is curious about the Bible and the lessons it teaches about God’s relationship with His creation.”

A 1995 graduate of Hartselle High School, Vaughn maintains a busy lifestyle revolving around her family, church and community

In addition to her passion for Bible study and writing, she is founder of Proven Path Ministries, Children’s Ministry Director at Shiloh Baptist Church in Somerville, co-administrator of Crossroads Christian Academy. and a home schoolteacher.

She and her husband Patrick, a locomotive operator at Nucor Steel, reside in Decatur with their two children, Shelby, 12, and Rebekah, nine.
