Meth labs found in Hartselle

The Morgan County Drug Task Force has located another meth lab on Gilchrist Street in Hartselle, leading to the arrest of a Hartselle man.

On Tuesday, officers conducted “a knock and talk” investigation at 315 Gilchrist St. in Hartselle. Thomas Denny Lovell II was at a neighbors house mowing the yard when agents approached him they noticed a gas generator hose sticking out of his pocket.

Agents obtained consent to search Lovell’s residence and discovered four one-pot meth labs at the residence along with drug paraphernalia. Agents also discovered where Lovell had allegedly attempted to manufacture meth by using the Red-P method. A

Lovell was arrested and charged with unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance first and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. This is the third time the suspect has faced charged of unlawful manufacturing a controlled substance within the past two years.

Lovell was decontaminated by Hartselle Fire and Rescue and taken to the Morgan County Jail on a $300,300.
