A memorial service for James Wayne Hammon, 69. of Cleveland, Tenn. was held Mon., Mar. 12, at 8 p.m. at the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home.

Mr. Hammon died Fri., Mar. 9, 2012, at his residence. He was born and raised in Morgan County as the son of James Madison Hammon and Louise Hammon. He was a former resident of Greenville, S.C. but had resided in Cleveland for the past 40 years. He was of the Baptist faith.

He was preceded in death by wife, June Hammon; his father, James Madison Hammon; and a brother, Myles Hammon.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Hammon Burns; two sons, Eric Hammon and Greg Hammon; a daughter, Ginger Hickman; a brother, David Hammon; two sisters, Linda Johnson and Sandra Olson; three grandchildren, Beth Hammon, Madison Hammon and Austin Hickman; and a host of nephews and nieces.
