Two arrested in drug raid

By Staff
Agents with the Morgan County Drug Task Force said paint buckets found during a recent raid were being used for something other than home improvement.
Agents were joined by the Decatur Organized Crime and Anti-Crime units in Aug. 23 raids at 1907 Eighth Street SW and 1421 Brookline Ave. Apartment D SW in Decatur. Both locations were listed as the home of Cashin Wheeler III. Agents found more than 7 pounds of marijuana stored in three orange paint buckets and four more empty paint buckets containing marijuana residue. Agents also found $1,521, drug paraphernalia and surveillance equipment.
Wheeler, 22, was arrested and charged with trafficking in marijuana and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia. Also arrested was Angela Bowie, 44, of 1909 Eighth Street SW. She is charged with unlawful possession of marijuana in the second degree.
Wheeler is being held on $76,500 bond. Bowie’s bond was set at $300.
