Lady Blue Devils win big

Falkville whips Decatur Heritage 20-3

FALKVILLE – The Falkville Lady Blue Devils took batting practice on Decatur Heritage pitching Friday on their way to a 20-3 win.
Falkville scored 10 runs in the bottom of the first inning then added another run in the second inning for an 11-0 lead. The Lady Blue Devils increased the lead to 14-0 after three innings.
Decatur Heritage scored three in the top of the fourth inning to cut the lead to 11.
Falkville ended the game on the 15-run rule in the bottom of the fourth. Falkville lead 17-3 with two runners on when Ashley Williams smashed a three-run homer to end the contest.
Falkville's Amanda Holmes was 4-for-4 including a double with three runs scored and three RBIs.
Heather Ricks went 4-for-4 with two doubles, two runs scored and four RBIs,
Williams was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and drove in five. Williams had a double in addition to her game ending home run.
Katie Wildmon was 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a RBI. Ashlie Mayer had a double and scored two runs while driving in another. Savannah Story had a two-run single while Brittany Key walked twice and scored two runs.
Whitney Eaves tripled in her only at bat driving in one run and later scored. Katie Ward had a double with a RBI and a run scored. Seventh-grader Katie Annerton was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Heather Ricks pitched two innings pick up her second win of the season.
Falkville improved to 3-3 so far this season.
