Danville High School teams excel in state competitions
The Danville FFA Livestock Team recently placed first in the State FFA Career Development Event at Auburn University. The team will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. this October and represent Alabama. Team members are Cassie Gilmore, Tessa Atchley, Kristen Majors, Josh Melson, Jose Gardner, Matthew Bond with Reid Blossom representing the Alabama Cattleman's Association. Brett Crow, team coach, is not pictured.
Tray Williams of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed second in the State FFA Poultry Proficiency Contest at Auburn University. He received a check and a banner for his accomplishments. He was joined by a representative of the Poultry and Egg Association of Alabama at the award presentation. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ray Williams of Danville.
Jared Turner of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed third in the State FFA Agricultural Mechanics Proficiency Contest at Auburn University. He received a check and a banner for his accomplishments. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Tanner of Danville.
The Danville FFA Chapter recently earned the 2006 Superior National Chapter Award sponsored by the National FFA Foundation. Representing the Danville FFA Chapter and receiving the award is Josh Melson, chapter vice president.
Daniel Morgan of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed third in the State FFA Agricultural Sales and Service Proficiency Contest at Auburn University. He received a check and a banner for his accomplishments. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Timmy Morgan of Danville.
Josh Melson of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed fourth in the State FFA Equine Science Proficiency Contest at Auburn University. He received a check and a banner for his accomplishments. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jeffery Melson of Danville.
Perry Byrd of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed first in the State FFA Diversified Crop Production Proficiency Contest at Auburn University. He received a check, banner and plaque for his accomplishments. He will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. this October and represent Alabama. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Byrd of Danville.
Dustin Mitchell of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed first in the State FFA Forestry Management and Products Proficiency Contest held at Auburn University. He received a check, banner and plaque for his accomplishments. He will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. this October and represent Alabama. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Brent Mitchell of Danville.
Chris Jones of the Danville FFA Chapter recently placed first in the State FFA Nursery Operations Proficiency Con-test at Auburn University. He received a check, banner and plaque for his accomplishments. He will compete at the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis, Ind. this October and represent Alabama. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmy Jones of Danville.
