Funeral for Barbara Sandlin Gandy, 83, of Falkville will be Sat., Oct. 8, at 1 p.m. at Gandy’s Cove United Methodist Church with Bros. Harold Thompson and John Russell officiating.

Visitation will be Fri., Oct. 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Cook Cemetery.

Mrs. Gandy died Thur., Oct. 6, 2011, at Cullman Regional Medical Center. She was born March 8, 1928, in Morgan County to Littleton Blan Sandlin and Lillie Mae Wallace Sandlin. She was raised in the Massey community and lived most of her life in the Cold Springs area between Falkville and Eva. She was the youngest of seven children and a member of Gandy’s Cove UMC. She was preceded in death by a son, Ray Gandy, her parents and five brothers, Shirley Summerford (half-brother), Herman, Vernon, Hance and Mynatt Sandlin.

She is survived by two sons, Wayne Gandy and wife Jackie of Guntersville and Allen Gandy and wife Kathy of Falkville; a sister, Verna Mae Fields and husband Milford of Falkville; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Gandy and wife Jenna, Jeramy Elizabeth Gandy, Jordan Gandy, Morgan Rae Alexander and husband Ted, Melissa Gail Gandy, Christopher Thomas Gandy and wife Mandy and Charles Perry Gandy and wife Gail; and seven great-grandchildren with one on the way, Samuel Gandy, Lawson and Shelton Alexander, Emma Gandy, Skyler and Bron Gandy and Braxton Peck.

Pallbearers will be Chris Gandy, Charlie Gandy, Jordan Gandy, Ted Alexander, Sandy Fields, Pat Smith and Don Sandlin.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Sandlin, Charles Sandin and Robert Sandlin.
