Funeral for William Elbert Lumsden, 93, of Hartselle was Wednesday, April 6, at 1 p.m. at Peck Funeral Home with Bro. Dewitt Crowe officiating.
Burial was in Hartselle City Cemetery.
Mr. Lumsden died Monday, April 4, 2005, at his residence. He was born Feb. 29, 1912, in Blount County to William Plemon Lumsden and Johnnie Nesmith Lumsden. He was a farmer for most of his life but moved his family to Hartselle in 1961 where he worked as a carpenter. He was a member of Southwest Baptist Church in Hartselle. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 69 years, Virgia Collins Lumsden; two daughters, Sue Lumsden Bailey and Barbara Lumsden Schonebaum; a granddaughter, Cynthia Yarbrough Holladay; a great-great-grandson, Adam Trey Lawson; one brother; and four sisters.
He is survived by one daughter, Lenora Lumsden Yarbrough of Hartselle; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
