Margaret 'Marty' Massey Eddy

Funeral for Margaret "Marty" Massey Eddy, 58, of Hartselle will be Thursday (today), Oct. 21, at 11 a.m. at Hartselle Church of Christ with Phillip Hines officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing.
Burial will be in Old Rescue Cemetery. Mrs. Eddy died Tuesday, Oct. 19, 2004, at her residence. She was a member of Hartselle Church of Christ. She retired from NASA in May 1994 after 29 years of service.
She had been on three mission trips with church members to Timisoara, Romania, having conducted Bible and English correspondence courses since 1995. Her love for God and spreading the good news of Jesus Christ was very evident and shared with her loving family.
She graduated from Falkville High School in 1964 and received a diploma from Albright Institute in 1965 and started working for NASA in January 1966.
Mrs. Eddy was preceded in death by a grandson, Robbie Cottingham.
She is survived by her husband, Shirley Curtis Eddy of Hartselle; three daughters, Rhonda Woodall Smith of Falkville, Lisa Eddy Bryant of Arley and Ani Stanescu of Timisoara, Romania; two sons, Toby Eddy of Hartselle and Mel Eddy of Landersville; three brothers, Thomas Massey of Denham Springs, La., Arthur Massey of Falkville and Gerald Massey of Somerville; two sisters, Mary Massey Calvert of Cullman and Movlyn Massey Roberson of Falkville; and 13 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Charles Robinson, Jeff Robinson, Dean Roberson Jr., Howard Roberson, Frank Massey and Jeff Massey.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steven Eddy, Louis Allen Bingham, David Eddy and Johnny Ferguson.
