Funeral for Billie Kenneth Nelson Sr., 90, of Decatur was Friday, Aug. 13, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rob Jackson officiating.
Burial was in Roselawn Cemetery.
Mr. Nelson died Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2004, at his residence. He was born Jan. 24, 1914, in Decatur to Robert Newsome Nelson and Sallie Wilson Nelson. He owned and operated Davidson Heating and Air Conditioning Service. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Central Baptist Church where he was a member for 82 years, and also a member of Rising Sun Masonic Lodge. Mr. Nelson was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Meadows Nelson.
He is survived by two sons, Ken Nelson and wife Merle of Decatur and Tim Nelson and wife Phyllis of Meridian, Miss.; two daughters, Candy Orr and husband John Pat of Hartselle and Beckye Holbert and husband Ken of Hillsboro; one sister, Ruth Sharp and husband Herman of Huntsville; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great grandchildren.
Pallbearers were grandsons.
Honorary pallbearers were his Sunday school class at Central Baptist Church.
