Somerville Church of God plans revival

I want to start my column by telling my readers why I had no news column the last two weeks. I took my six grandchildren to Gulf Shores, Louis, Jayla and Julie Daugette and Jeannie, Jacob and Jayden Moore. We had a great time at the beach as well and shopping and eating lots of “junk food.” Now vacation’s over and it’s back to reality.

Happy wedding anniversary wishes go out to Charles and Joan Free who celebrated 19 years together recently.

A big hello goes out to Bro. Joey Staton and members of Soul Harbor Baptist Church.

The singing at Somerville Assembly was a very exciting time. Over 40 people attended and two people gave their hearts to the Lord. There was lots of good food, fellowship and rejoicing in the Lord. The next singing has been scheduled for the third Saturday night in August and singers will be announced at a later date. Also, two weeks ago two people gave their hearts to the Lord at the close of the Sunday morning service.

Congratulations to Ricky Lee Taylor and his new wife who were married on July 23 in an outdoor ceremony. They are honeymooning in Gulf Shores.

A cookout was held at the home of Jacob and Ashley Daugette on Saturday afternoon.

A revival is scheduled at United Christian Church of God in Somerville July 27-30. Everyone is invited.

We are glad to report that Paul Dunnaway came through his medical procedure fine.

Prayers and sympathy go out to the family and friends of Buddy Johnson who passed away last week.

Our deepest sympathy goes out to the family and friends of one of my co-workers who lost her life in an automobile accident last week. Susy Fields will be greatly missed by her co-workers at HGA home health, as well as everyone with whom she came in contact. She was an inspiration to all who knew her. We will miss her hearty laugh and big smile.

Happy birthday wishes go out to Charles Free on July 19. Happy birthday wishes also go out to Gary Cox.

I hope everyone has a blessed and safe week. Call me with you social events, church announcements and birthdays.
